Position Overview
The Social Media & Graphic Design Intern will support the development of digital content and visual materials across the organization’s online platforms. This role combines creative design with social media communication, offering hands-on experience in content creation, branding, analytics, and digital marketing. The intern will work under the guidance of senior staff and contribute to real client and organizational projects.
Internship Start Date: Immediately
End Date: March 31, 2026
This is an in-person position in downtown Vancouver. Remote work is not available.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Support
- Assist in creating, scheduling, and publishing posts across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
- Draft engaging copy that aligns with brand voice and campaign objectives.
- Support community management by monitoring comments, messages, and audience engagement.
- Conduct basic research to help develop content calendars and social strategy ideas.
- Track performance metrics and prepare simple analytics summaries.
Graphic & Digital Design
- Create visual assets for social media, including static posts, stories, reels, and ads.
- Assist in designing marketing materials, including infographics, banners, presentations, and digital templates.
- Follow brand guidelines to maintain visual consistency across all channels.
- Support layout design for digital documents and campaign materials.
- Help source and organize photos, brand assets, and design files.
Collaboration & Administration
- Participate in team meetings, creative brainstorms, and content planning sessions.
- Assist staff with communications, marketing tasks, and project documentation as required.
- Apply feedback to refine creative work and support version control.
- Maintain organized digital folders, assets, and project files.
What You’ll Learn
By the end of the internship, the student will gain hands-on experience in:
- Creating branded social media content from concept to execution.
- Applying design principles using industry-standard software (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma).
- Understanding social media strategy, audience engagement, and analytics.
- Managing real-world creative workflows, deadlines, and feedback cycles.
- Producing visual content that meets accessibility and brand standards.
- Collaborating within a multidisciplinary marketing/design team.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a design, marketing, communications, digital media, or related program.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent tools.
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok).
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Creative thinker with good communication and time-management skills.

Candidate must meet all eligibility requirements of their institution’s Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) program
Supervision & Mentorship Plan
The intern will be supervised by KIMBO’s Operations Lead and Creative Director. Weekly check-ins, project briefings, and feedback sessions will ensure the intern is supported and continuously learning. They’ll be encouraged to ask questions, bring ideas forward, and develop initiative in a safe and inclusive environment.
The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident.
Wage: $18 per hour
