Kim Pickett is the creative principal of KIMBO Design Inc., an award-winning design firm. As a creative director, she's a conceptual and strategic thinker who is well known for producing effective, innovative campaigns executed with a clean and elegant signature style.

Kim's breakthrough creative direction and targeted marketing expertise guide the development of branding campaigns, visual identities and interactive assets for a wide range of clients such as BluWood Canada, Calligaris, Harling's Jewellers, Nita Lake Lodge-Whistler, Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson and BC's Premier Christy Clark. As a highly respected and responsible leader in the industry, she is committed to sustainable business practices. Her commitment to the community and to future generations comes through in her work as an advisor to design students and educational institutions.

Kim's passion for extraordinary creative has been recognized by Summit Creative International Awards, The MEA Summit Awards, The Creative Awards, as well as the GDC Blue Sky Conference, FlashinTO, and FlashGoddess.com. She has been interviewed on "Career Moves" a program that highlights exciting entrepreneurs in Canada.

Kim is a Certified Graphic Designer, holding a CGD designation from The Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC); she also graduated with honors from Canada's leading Design Program at York University and Sheridan College.

Kim sits on the GDC's Sustainability Committee and is currently in the process of helping develop GDC's Environmental Best Practices Guide.

Thanh Nguyen
Web Developer

Thanh is a highly motivated and goal orientated web development problem solver. He is experienced with both leading a web design team and collaborating with designers and clients in finding the best solution to project needs. Thanh's passion for new web development techniques has led him to become a specialist in WordPress customization and other open source applications.

Thanh's experience as a PHP web developer has provided him with the ability to think critically about information design. This experience coupled with his patient and careful troubleshooting has given him a keen insight into understanding user needs. Through working with designers, Thanh has also developed an intuitive sense of good design concepts making him a valuable member of the KIMBO Design team.

Julie Yeem
Graphic Designer

Julie solves complex problems through the art of design. She has a keen eye for visual layout and a great sense for typography. Julie has developed identity and branding systems, promotional materials, environmental graphics, and publication designs for a broad range of clients. Her work at KIMBO focuses on a tangible and virtual space: where online user experience and offline user experience meet.

Julie holds a degree from SFU in Interactive Arts & Technology with a minor in Publishing. She is a provisional member of the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC), and is pursuing CGD (Certified Graphic Designer) designation. Julie also frequently appears in the social media sphere as a blogger and commentator on brands and identities.

Reija Roberts
Copywriter

Reija Roberts is a copywriter with a clean and adaptable style. Versatile and concise, she demonstrates careful attention to audience and purpose. Reija contributes her writing skills to various KIMBO Design Inc. projects, including proposals, marketing materials, website content and reports. She also handles the firm's social media presence and PR.

Prior to joining KIMBO Design, Reija worked as a freelance writer. She has also worked as an editorial assistant for literary magazines, and she has a background in fundraising for non-profits.

Reija holds an honours BA in English from Lakehead University, and she studied professional writing at Douglas College. Reija is also a member of the Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS).

Colin Evans
Director of Operations

Colin Evans joined KIMBO Design Inc. in 2008 and took on the responsibility of building both the people and business operations. His main responsibilities are executive advisory and decision support.

He advises on business strategy, the implementation of standard practices, on risk management, business process management, and marketing and advertising strategy. Prior to joining KIMBO Design Inc. he was in the hospitality/security, investigation and close protection industries, where his focus was working with people operations and improving business transaction efficiencies.

Colin also has a academic background in English and the Arts and implements social media and advertising strategies at KIMBO and also performs copywriting/editing functions.
