Indigenous Consultant

Aaniin, boozhoo. Julie is of mixed Irish settler and Indigenous heritage, with ancestral roots in the Chippewa, Anishinaabe, and Georgian Bay Métis Nation Ontario Historic Community from the family line of Joseph Craddock (Pamwewedung). Based in the Durham Region of Ontario, much of her work focuses on facilitating gatherings, conducting research, and providing community and academic support to Indigenous students and families.

Julie recently completed her Master of Education at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario, and is trained in many facets of Indigenous Education, including Indigenous protocols and OCAP (Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession) principles of First Nations Data Governance. She frequently participates in and organizes Indigenous community engagement events, overseeing logistics, materials, food preparation, and ensuring all activities uphold Inherent Indigenous Rights to respect, dignity, love, and special treatment as the original peoples of the Land.

Julie has previously collaborated with KIMBO Design as a trusted advisor, bringing her background in creative arts and her deep knowledge of Indigenous pedagogy and ways of being, knowing, and doing. Her creative, humble, and compassionate approach reflects her Anishinaabe value system, which considers the whole self in emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual balance and guides her work in fostering meaningful and respectful community engagement.
