KIMBO Design was gratified to win an RFP competition with the BCSS to fulfill their recruiting requirements. We won this contract successfully because of our successful talent attraction program with did with B.C. Corrections. Although the timelines were very short, we were able to put together an ad program that addressed their needs immediately, with outstanding results.

The Challenge

During this time of KIMBO’s engagement, the B.C. Sheriff Service lacked sheriffs to the degree that court proceedings province-wide were seriously impaired. B.C Sheriff Service needed to recruit new hires quickly.

 
 

The Strategy

KIMBO’s communication strategy was to flood local newspapers, radio and online platforms with positive recruitment materials. These included videos, radio, online and print marketing communications that touted the benefits of working with this branch of law enforcement. We crafted messaging that included court hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., weekends and long weekends off, and an enviable benefits package. This lifestyle appeals to many candidates as it supports an excellent work-life balance while including service to the community.

Results

Despite the challenging timelines, KIMBO’s efforts resulted in a 3-fold increase in recruitment intakes, going from 100-200 applications to 500-800+. These are the outcomes the KIMBO creative team relentlessly works hard for.
