The Challenge:

The main goal for this website was to move FGF away from feeling like a document repository and toward a clear, purposeful platform that reflects their updated brand and long-term vision. The existing site contained strong content and important reports, but the navigation and structure made it difficult for applicants, community organizations, donors, and First Nations leadership to quickly understand where to go or what action to take. FGF needed the website to prioritize funding applications and donations in a way that felt intuitive and accessible, without overwhelming visitors with dense reports or internal terminology. At the same time, the site had to better communicate the distinction between funding streams, highlight impact through success stories, and maintain strong visibility of accountability resources such as annual and impact reports, while ensuring the experience remained accessible, bilingual, and user friendly across devices.

The Strategy:

KIMBO set out to provide FGF with a modern and engaging website that reflected the scale, innovation, and leadership of the organization. Our strategy focused on elevating the brand’s digital presence while creating a structured and intuitive experience for diverse audiences.

Given the breadth of FGF’s operations and content, we developed a streamlined information architecture to better organize large volumes of material and simplify navigation. This restructuring ensured visitors could quickly access key information while maintaining clarity across departments, initiatives, and corporate messaging.

Visually, we strengthened the brand by refining the design system and introducing a cohesive colour and typography framework that brought energy and consistency across the site. Strategic imagery and content placement were leveraged to highlight leadership, innovation, and company culture.

Built on a custom WordPress foundation, the website was developed to be scalable, responsive, and easy for internal teams to manage. The result is a dynamic digital platform that reinforces FGF’s industry leadership while delivering a clean and user friendly experience across devices.

 

Results

The redesigned FGF website delivers a streamlined and accessible user experience across devices, allowing visitors to navigate complex content with clarity and ease. The custom WordPress CMS provides flexibility for ongoing updates, empowering internal teams to manage content efficiently without relying on complex development processes.

Within the first month of launch, the new website demonstrated strong engagement metrics, attracting a significant number of new users and generating consistent traffic across desktop and mobile devices.
