G7 2025 Kananaskis Summit

Project Overview:

The Group of Seven (G7) is an informal grouping of seven of the world’s most advanced economies and the European Union. Its members meet annually at the G7 Summit to discuss critical global economic and geopolitical issues. In 2025, Canada and its G7 partners will commemorate 50 years of partnership and cooperation—a half-century milestone since the inaugural G7 meeting in France in 1975.

KIMBO Design was entrusted with the opportunity to design the official website for this globally significant event, hosted in Kananaskis, Alberta, Canada.

The Challenge:

A major hurdle in the early design stages was the unavailability of the official G7 2025 brand logo and colour palette. This required our team to approach the design process with foresight and flexibility, ensuring that our initial design framework could seamlessly incorporate brand assets once they became available.

Another key consideration was bilingualism. With both English and French being Canada’s official languages, our team needed to account for language-specific layout differences—especially as French text often takes up more space.

The Strategy

KIMBO Design developed a modular, grid-based design system to accommodate future branding updates while maintaining a polished and professional look during early development.
To address bilingual content needs, we implemented an adaptive layout system that dynamically adjusts to accommodate both languages. This approach ensured visual consistency, legibility, and usability across both versions of the website, without sacrificing accessibility or aesthetics.
